Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about C-CUBE and our modular facilities for life sciences and data centers.

About C-CUBE

What is C-CUBE?

C-CUBE (www.c-cube.com) designs, manufactures, and qualifies turnkey modular facilities for life sciences and data centers, with up to 95% of each facility manufactured off-site. We offer a full turnkey solution, from concept to commissioning.

C-CUBE was founded in Hanoi, Vietnam, in January 2019. Read our story.

Where is C-CUBE located?

Our headquarters are in Singapore, at 20A Tanjong Pagar Road, Singapore 088443. Engineering and production are in Vietnam: our office is in Hanoi (52 Truc Lac Lane, Truc Bach Ward, Ba Dinh) and our factory is in Hung Yen province (Chi Long, Ngoc Long, Yen My).

We operate across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. See our offices and factory.

Where is the C-CUBE factory?

The C-CUBE factory is located in Chi Long, Ngoc Long, Yen My, Hung Yen, Vietnam. This strategic location in Asia allows us to provide cGMP modular facilities at a fair price throughout both Asia and Europe.

Who has invested in C-CUBE, and what has it delivered?

The Saint-Gobain Group is an investor in C-CUBE. After building and validating our proof of concept in Vietnam, we successfully delivered a cGMP facility in Europe.

Life sciences facilities

What modular units does C-CUBE offer for bioprocess and vaccine production?

Examples of our turnkey solutions for life sciences:

Each concept can be adapted to your needs in terms of floor area, layout, and room classification.

Does C-CUBE build modular BSL-2 laboratories?

Yes. Our 162 m² concept can be used to build biosafety level 1 and 2 (BSL-1 and BSL-2) laboratories. The laboratory design is fully adaptable and extendable to meet your needs. See the BSL-2 laboratory layout.

Which cleanroom classes can a C-CUBE modular facility achieve?

Our clean areas are designed in accordance with ISO 14644-1, providing cleanroom classifications from ISO 5 to ISO 8 (GMP Grade B to D). Inside our modules, the cleanroom has a 2.7 m clear height and the HVAC system provides up to 50 air changes per hour. Inside a C-CUBE module.

Can C-CUBE modular facilities meet EU GMP and FDA requirements?

Our modular concepts are designed to meet applicable EU and FDA regulatory requirements and GMP standards, with the flexibility to adapt to country-specific regulations and market requirements worldwide. Our manufacturing processes and modules are CE compliant, supporting deployment in the European market. How we build and validate.

What sizes are C-CUBE modules?

Our small modular concept, for facilities typically below 500 m², uses three module sizes: Module A (12 m²), Module B (24 m²), and Module C (36 m²). Up to 3 modules can be stacked vertically.

For facilities above 500 m² or with large equipment, our patent-pending large modular concept offers up to 70 m² of floor space per module and an adjustable room height.

Modular data centers

Does C-CUBE offer modular data centers?

Yes. Our modular concepts, first developed for life sciences, now extend to data centers: from edge and all-in-one data centers to larger, multi-module facilities, for edge, enterprise, colocation, and hyperscale needs.

Does C-CUBE sell all-in-one modular data centers of 50 kW or 100 kW?

Yes. The C-CUBE all-in-one data center is a single-module, plug-and-play solution in two configurations:

  • 50 kW: a 7 m × 3.5 m module with 4 IT racks of 10 kW;
  • 100 kW: a 10.5 m × 3.5 m module with 9 IT racks of 10 kW.

Each solution can be customized in technology selection and IT load capacity.

Can C-CUBE build a 1 MW modular data center?

Yes. We build large-scale data centers by combining multiple modules. Two 1 MW configurations are shown on our site:

  • air cooled: 16 main modules of 10.5 m × 3.5 m, for a 294 m² footprint;
  • AI data center with liquid cooling and air cooling: 10 main modules of 7 m × 3.5 m, for a 122.5 m² footprint.

Speed, cost, and leasing

How fast can a modular facility be built compared with conventional construction?

A C-CUBE modular project can cut construction time by up to 50% compared with traditional construction methods. The gain comes from minimal design time, thanks to pre-engineered solutions, and from the industrial manufacturing of our modules, built in parallel in our factory. See the benefits.

Is modular construction cheaper than conventional construction for a GMP facility?

The overall cost of a modular project (engineering, construction, and commissioning) is within ±10% of a stick-built project, but modular construction offers significantly higher budget predictability and fewer unexpected overruns. At C-CUBE, basic and detailed engineering are included in the cost of the building.

Can I lease a modular facility instead of buying it?

Yes. C-CUBE facilities can be purchased or leased: leasing can turn a CAPEX investment into an OPEX model. Designed for a lifespan of several decades, the facility can be relocated, expanded, upgraded, or repurposed as your needs evolve. Buy or lease.

How is a C-CUBE project delivered?

A typical project runs in 4 phases:

  • Design: process engineering and facility design, with our commitment on feasibility, budget, and schedule.
  • Manufacturing: modules built in our factory, with a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with you before shipment.
  • Transport: modules sized for road and sea transport, deployable virtually anywhere in the world.
  • Install and validate: installation by our own team, Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning, and support for the Installation and Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ).
